Eleven Tracks with Over 130 Sessions Targeted for Miami Beach Conference
Torrance, CA (December 14, 2005) — Xplor International, the worldwide electronic document systems association, today detailed their annual Global Document Exchange, February 1-5, in Miami Beach, Florida in conjunction with the Graphics of the Americas. For 2006, Xplor Document Conference will offer eleven tracks of content in over 130 sessions designed to inform and educate both the expert and novice in the electronic document industry. Session content will cover the entire document lifecycle from concept to design, to production through distribution, archival and re-application as well as disaster recovery.

Eleven Conference Tracks That Cover the Entire Document Lifecycle
For 2006, Xplor has significantly increased their educational curricula over previous years and broadened the conference agenda to appeal to all management levels from graphic designers, IT professionals, pre and post-press personnel as well as human resources and marketing staff. In addition, the conference organizers have expanded the agenda with additional subjects in human resources and business strategies with content focused on decision-making topics. Technology sessions will provide user experiences, tutorials and product comparisons required to evaluate current and future needs. The eleven conference tracks include:
AFP Track - http://www.xplor2006.org/conference_doc_afp.asp - New to the document conference is the AFP (Advanced Function Printing) track. This track consists of seven sessions and covers topics for both the novice and experienced attendee. Although technical, sessions also target management with subjects including color, performance and reliability. Session content begins with AFP 101: advanced function printing tutorial and progresses through issues involved in converting to and from AFP, the AFP Color Consortium (an update panel) and two AFP Workshops: From blank paper to a finished product and tips & tricks to using AFP utilities.
Ask the Experts Track - http://www.xplor2006.org/dlc/sessions.asp?Code=ASK - an early morning opportunity to meet experts with specific business and technology experiences. Presenters offer material such as implementing integrated direct response systems, linking digital print to the mail stream in commercial print environments, search engine optimization for beginners, killer design killed the printer, and open standards for complex interactive forms.
Business Development Track - http://www.xplor2006.org/dlc/sessions.asp?Code=BUS - presents managers, business owners and executives with detailed project and product information to take back to their businesses and companies. Sessions are a mix of user case studies, panel discussions and presentations on issues that focus on understanding business plans, techniques and application solutions, with specific content on managing your customer’s print process, the de-regulated European mail market and jumpstarting your printing business.
Creation Track - http://www.xplor2006.org/dlc/sessions.asp?Code=CRT - presents graphic designers, composition specialists and technician sessions pertaining to designing, developing and presenting information and transactions through printing and the document process. Sessions are a mix of panel discussions and presentations covering implementation tips and techniques with emphasis on AFP, training programs and technology considerations and solutions and use of color in statement design.
Digital Prepress Track - http://www.xplor-digital-prepress.info/index.htm - provides a three-day intensive education on how to efficiently manage and produce work using the latest digital technologies. Starring NAPL’s ‘Howie’ Fenton, the dynamic trainer, Taz Tally and prepress expert Chuck Weger, attendees will learn how to make your business more successful in the management and technology track while hearing about digital technologies that will change your business.
Disaster Recovery Track - http://www.xplor2006.org/conference_doc_dr.asp - Any enterprise can face a situation that causes the print and mail production to become unavailable. It might be a hurricane, tornado, flood or earthquake. In this track, we look at some of the things that can happen to any size business and how real companies have overcome the challenges. Presenters include experts in print and mail recovery, as well as representatives from companies that have experienced the challenges during Hurricane Katrina.
Distribution Track - http://www.xplor2006.org/dlc/sessions.asp?Code=DST - presents operators, business analysts, business owners, project managers and technicians with information pertaining to post processing, imaging, mailing and finishing of customer and corporate documents and information. Sessions focus on distribution methods, tracking systems, security and postal considerations, consumables, inventory management, supply chain and publishing on-demand.
Enterprise Content Management Track - http://www.xplor2006.org/dlc/sessions.asp?Code=ECM - provides business analysts, compliance specialists, project managers, technicians and owners information on technologies, tools and methods used to capture, manage, store, deliver, archive and retrieve customer and corporate information. Sessions provide first-hand experiences from users in the design and implementation of plans to meet the needs of their customers, which considerations, choices and requirements they considered, assuring the key to successful documents for all enterprises.
HR Management Track - http://www.xplor2006.org/conference_doc_hr.asp - provides those involved in HR (Hiring and Retention) the knowledge/skills to acquire and keep the top talent that makes a business profitable. Designed for "C" level officers, human resource professionals, interviewing managers and those involved in the strategic and tactical application of employee retention. Sessions will include using behavior-based and other interviewing processes to analyze, evaluate and select top candidates, retention strategies to keep top performers.

Production methods will encompass traditional offset, digital to plate, the latest developments in high-speed laser and inkjet printers and variable full-color printing. Sessions focus on lean document operations in print and mail, production printing, quick printing, high-speed full-color print runs of one, on-demand web technology, job control, preflight software, tracking methods including RFID and more.
Vendor Tutorial Track - http://www.xplor2006.org/dlc/sessions.asp?Code=VTU - sessions are conducted by individual vendor sales and marketing groups designed to provide attendees with information about that vendor’s hardware, software or services.
